We bought a car for our teenage drivers Saturday night. It is old & faded, but it has a great history and the price was right. It is a 1996 Chevy Cavalier, oxidized red (we like to think of it as cinnamon. . .) 155,000 miles, interior is in good shape, the outside isn't too bad, engine is LOUD, but I think it will be just fine. After all of the car wrecking that occurred this past summer, we were only willing to invest about a $1000 into a kids' car, and this one sold for $1050 and it even had a 3/4 full tank of gas. Nice.
A very nice family, the Groberg's, from Bountiful acquired the car from the Church missionary fleet 100,000 miles ago and it then served as their children's car. All of those boys served missions, too. I think that is good precendent to establish for this car. It will now be used by future missionaries. :) Hopefully it will last through a few more boys. . .
